“Labor Day” is a provocative 2- minute 3D animation that asks us to imagine a society with no bloodlines, no families, no legacies. The film starts in a medical center, where a patient is undergoing what appears to be a simple surgery. But we are in a parallel universe, where humans no longer give birth in the familiar way. Instead, each individual produces a baby grown from its own brain. And when a new baby arrives following the labor procedure, it must replace its parent - immediately. What happens when individuals live only for themselves?
